THE ALLIED SPECIAL FORCES ASSOCIATION - UK is dedicated to creating the ALLIED SPECIAL FORCES MEMORIAL GROVE at the NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM which will commemorate the men and women who sadly lost their lives whilst serving with ALLIED SPECIAL FORCES during World War 2 and in the Conflicts since.

HAMILTON	Captain	John G.	499793	10th. June 1982	Age 29
	22nd. Special Air Service Regiment Military Cross
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Captain John Hamilton MC joined 22 SAS in 1981 and commanded Mountain Troop. He first landed on South Georgia, survived 2 helicopter crashes and eventually led his troop into Grytviken a few days later. Within days he went to Pebble Island and destroyed 4 Pucara aircraft. Led patrols on Mount Kent, East Falkland to ambush enemy patrols. Johns last action on West Falkland led to fatal injuries when his observation post over looking Port Howard was discovered by an Argentine patrol. He was heavily outnumbered but carried the fight to the enemy in true form.

	22nd. Special Air Service Regiment Queens Gallantry Medal & British Empire Medal
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial William joined G Sqn 22 SAS in July 1978. He served on four operational tours of Northern Ireland and was soon at the forefront of operations alongside 2 Special Boat Section and aided in the capture of the Argentine spyship "Narwhal". He was awarded the Queens Gallantry Medal.

	Royal Air Force - Special Air Service
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Garth had been working with 22 SAS for over three years prior to the Falklands and was ideally suited to Special Forces operations.
HUGHES	Sergeant	William John	24076141	19th. May 1982	Age 34
	Welsh Guards & 22nd. Special Air Service Regiment
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial William joined 22 SAS in 1972 and three years later joined G Sqn as its storeman. He was controlling cross deck stores movements at the time of the accident.

	Welsh Guards, Guards Parachute Company & 22nd. Special Air Service Regiment
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Taff joined G Sqn in 1975 from the Guards Parachute Company and completed all operational tours with the Squadron and was one of the first from the Regiment to go out to the South Atlantic.

	1 Signal Regiment - Special Air Service
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Paul transferred to 264 SAS Signal Squadron and in 1979 completed signals selection course, he was training hard to complete the full SAS selection.
McCOMACK	Corporal	Douglas	24195687	19th. May 1982	Age 26
	Royal Signals - Special Air Service
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Douglas was Garth Hawkins' signaller. They served together as a special forces partnership for many years. His ambition was to join 264 SAS Signal Squadron and eventually join the regiment. His service with special forces was exceptional.

	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Michael joined 264 SAS Signal Squadron in 1978 and served with G Sqn particularly in Northern Ireland.

	Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers - Special Air Service
	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial John joined 22 SAS as part of a team of armourers in support of the regiment. His skill at improvisation was soon recognised by all. He qualified as a parachutist prior to the Falklands conflict.

	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Paddy joined the SAS in 1966 and served in South-Arabia, Belize, Northern Ireland, Dhofar, Norway and the United States.

	St. Martins Churchyard, Hereford - SAS Regimental Plot - Falklands Memorial Steve joined 264 Signal Squadron in 1978 and saw service in Northern Ireland.
